It's sort of the Yin to the Yang of American Exceptionalism that says Americans, only because we are Americans, can commit genocide and commit war crimes and use nuclear weapons without fear of being condemned as we would condemn the very same actions committed by other nations.
"But the point here is that those tempered and nuanced conversations are only able to happen because the demographic at the center of it all is white guys."

"I think we should ask the question why is America 30 percent white guys, and 70 percent of the shootings in the last many decades have been at the hands of white guys ... I do think it's interesting to note that had 70 percent of mass shooters been let's say Arab or African-American men, I think the conversation would be ... much uglier."
He asks a valid question as the last of Newtown's dead are buried. And he'll take heat from the ignoramuses in our society who deny their very own faults. My question for the NRA and all their supporters is this: will the next mass murderer kill more than Newtown, kill more than Aurora, or will that most likely White Male kill less?
