Make Republican Leaders in DC renounce their Obstructionist Pact

by: Zappatero

No Republican leader, including several still in office, has denied this quite possibly treasonous compact to obstruct President Obama took place on the day of the president's first inaugural:

A lengthy discussion between senior GOP members concluded with a plan to repeatedly block newly elected President Barack Obama over the coming four years to try to ensure he would not be re-elected.

Those Republican leaders, and their most infamous facilitator Senator Mitch McConnell, failed miserably. In addition to their legislative strategy prior to this election they had untold Billions in cash from their wealthiest right-wing contributors, numerous Super PACs run by their most trusted advisors like Karl Rove, and the fantasy that there were two parties, Republican and Tea, allied against the Liberal, Socialist, Muslim, anti-American, anti-business president.

Their strategy failed.

Their unlimited money failed.

Their lies failed.

A detailed account of who was present at the dinner on that January 20, 2009, night and the plan they worked out to bring down Obama is provided by Robert Draper in 'Do Not Ask What Good We Do: Inside the US House of Representatives', published this week.

In his book, Draper opens with the heady atmosphere in Washington on the days running up to the inauguration and the day itself, which attracted 1.8 million to the mall to witness Obama being sworn in as America's first black president.

Attending the dinner were House members Eric Cantor, Jeb Hensarling, Pete Hoekstra, Dan Lungren, Kevin McCarthy, Vice Presidential Nominee Paul Ryan and Pete Sessions.

From the Senate were Tom Coburn, Bob Corker, Jim DeMint, Adulterer and Briber John Ensign and Jon Kyl.

Others present were former House Speaker and future - and failed - presidential candidate Newt Gingrich and the Republican strategist Frank Luntz.

Republicans have proven they can't be trusted to uphold their legislative responsibilities. Republicans have proven they can't be trusted negotiators. Republicans have proven they do not respect the will of the people as demonstrated in multiple elections across the country.

Democrats, especially those in the United States Senate, should show the same respect and consideration Republican leaders have shown to them and us the last 4 years: NONE.

Dan Lungren behind in tight race [CA07]
One way to fight back against Citizens United unlimited cash is to pool resources and pick targets. Dan Lungren in my old state is a good example. This guy has been around far too long. He was a dud as CA Atty General, has carpet-bagged all over CA. Finally landed in a suburb of Sacramento, Rancho Cordova, Gold River in a district not heavily GOP. Dr. Ami Bera, rematch of 2010, holds a small lead in this too close to call race. Lungren was one of 11 targets in Takedown the Tea Party Ten (plus queen M. Bachmann) via Credo Action. Queen bee was re-elected but some of the TP 10 are history.
