So say the conservative pundits over at ToTheRight:
According to 9news.com, eight initiatives had signatures turned in as of today and are expected to make the November ballot, where they’ll be joined by seven referred measures. Unfortunately, none of the initiatives or referred measures will be big draws for Republicans.
Notably missing are anti-eminent-domain, anti-illegal-immigration and anti-Referendum-C initiatives. Each had petitions circultated, and one, the anti-Referendum-C initiative, also known as HEAT, likely had enough valid signatures to go before voters.
The push for the anti-eminent-domain initiative was condemned as it waxed and waned for months, and the anti-illegal-immigration initiative was deported by the Colorado Supreme Court, then by the Legislature and Gov. Owens.
That’s all bad news for us, but that’s not all the bad news. Sure, the marriage initiative made it, but the Democrats have two — that’s right, two — domestic-partnership issues on, one as an initiative and one as a referred measure. And while we were able to get our version of the 65-percent solution on the ballot, the donkeys were able to get their version on too.
Basically, the battle for the ballot was fought, and we got our asses handed to us by a bunch of asses[.]
Will the civil war in Colorado's GOP ever end? Reading this only adds baggage to Bill Owens' Real Legacy.
And whoever runs this righty site allows comments, which is more than your average righty blog.
Strangely enough, we share common ground: both ToTheRight and I would not be sad to see Kiki Traylor lose her Senate District 22 race tomorrow.
