From a press release:
Former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Henry H. (Hugh) Shelton, has endorsed Jay Fawcett today in the race for Colorado's Fifth District congressional seat.

General Shelton served as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs from 1997 to 2001. The General stated, "Jay is an outstanding man. I served with him in both Desert Storm and Desert Shield. Jay will serve the people of Colorado's Fifth Congressional District in the same outstanding manner he served the United States Military."

Hear hear!

More of Jay's endorsements here.

Jay's excellent assessment of what's going on in Iraq, "How do we know when we're finished in Iraq?" is here. This assessment is full of facts and real ideas for what needs to be done in Iraq and how the President has shirked his responsibilities in explaining the mission to the American people.

This is something the President, and the Rubber Stamp Congress™, will be loathe to do until the American people force them to.

Jay has made that case.

UPDATE: Former Supreme Allied Commander of NATO,  General Wes Clark's WesPAC has joined the parade of outstanding citizens supporting Jay Fawcett. Wes Clark knows the strength of Jay's experience and how our nation needs all its best voices to speak up in this most trying time.

And check out that dashing picture! Who could resist voting for Jay?

That's a great endorsement.

I was in Breckenridge this weekend (4.00 / 1)
Drove around a bit, over Boreas pass and down through Fair Play and Alma. We saw a couple of Crank signs.

Anyway, I checked Jay's site this morning and was surprised to see practically no reference to his district. He's certainly not too shy to gush about CO-05 when he's shooting the breeze with folks - he should have an 'I love my district!' page on his website, with descriptions and a map. There's no map on his site!

Jay, staff and vols ... (0.00 / 0)
... if that's something that would be useful, let me know and I'll cook something up (jpg or whatever you need) over the next week or so.  I should have the necessary GIS data in hand already.

Found a link to a map (0.00 / 0)
on his Contact Us page. It goes to a .pdf file.

The district needs its own page with more detail and additional maps, linked from the home page.
