Why didn't anybody notice that "Joe the Plumber" was a repackaging of "Tom the Tinker"?

news round-up by johne:

  • Looks like Norm Coleman is about out of options.  Minnesota is expected to certify the results today. Making Al Franken the 59th Democratic Senator (counting Lieberman).
  • Obama has selected Virgina Governor Tim Kaine to head the DNC.
  • I'm sure you've all heard that NM Gov. Richardson has withdrawn his name as commerce secretary.  Pay for Play?  Say it ain't so Joe Bill.
  • Things are so bad in Colorado Springs they're going to try to repeal TABOR.
  • Want more info on Michael Bennet?  The Post has one, two, three, four, five articles.  The Rocky has one, two, three, four.
  • State GOP complains about activist judges.
  • Say goodbye to Allard and Tancredo.
  • What are unions good for?  Saving your benefits.  Denver Post non union employees are losing their 401K matching contributions.
  • Boulder's velodrome just opened.  It's about time this state had more than one track for cyclists.

Ms. Rosa is going to Bolivia to cover their vote on a new constitution.  Congratulations!

fixed (0.00 / 0)
In case anyone noticed, the weird date overlap of the date with long user names is fixed.  This only showed on the diary page, not front, and only with firefox and opera.  Turns out it was an easy fix.

Those who use IE may have noticed a certain front page diary was blowing the margins for about about a week or so.  Why didn't someone tell me?  That's temporarily fixed, but I really need a permanent solution.  I'm sick of editing people's stuff.

Good choice of Tim Kaine (0.00 / 0)
I thought he would have made an excellent running mate for Obama too--it just so happened he won Virginia without him.

Yes, excellent choice (0.00 / 0)
With the selection of Kaine, Obama's throwing the gay community under the bus is now complete.

It's nice to know (0.00 / 0)
some on the left have already given up on Obama. You seriously think he's throwing them under the bus? Have you not seen the last 8 years where they've been actually thrown under the bus, and not just in your imagination?

I may not agree with Tim Kaine on the issue of gay marriage, but thankfully, the Chairman of the DNC does not set policy--especially when there's a Dem in the White House. I was merely saying that he will be a fine administrator for the DNC finances, and I think he'll do a good job fundraising as well.

Seriously, Obama is on your side. Rick Warren and the DNC Chair will have ZERO effect on his administration's policies regarding gay rights. If I'm wrong, I will be up in arms over it with you, but let's let them man have his first 100 days before we start accusing him of throwing any particular group under the bus.

Really bad out there (0.00 / 0)
We were at 700+ resumes when I left work today.  For a part-time, entry-level, clerical job.
