CBS4 ran one of their "Reality Check" segments on Bennet's most recent ad. They came to the same conclusion that many people on here have said: that the ad might technically not be lying, but is in fact misleading.
You can watch it here (sorry apparently you can't embed their broadcast) |
| Firewalker :: CBS4 on Bennet ad: "Simply Misleading" |
| CBS4's notes that Bennet's ad does not make the distinction between past and present, explaining clearly that Romanoff has taken PAC money in the past, but has since stopped. It also explains that Romanoff's leadership PAC has not been used in several years. This we knew, but it's nice to hear it validated by a fact checker.
Probably lost interesting, however, is their discussion on Labor money. They list several of Romanoff's labor endorsements and quote from a union leader than says these endorsements come with checks but Romanoff said no. Hopefully this puts to rest the Bennet blogger talking point that Romanoff only did this because he couldn't actually raise any PAC money. As the report says, Romanoff could be, but isn't.
Instead, Romanoff is taking the same path President Obama took, in funding his campaign with contributions from individuals. |
