Rocky Mt. News reports that a Schaffer screw-up could cost his campaign more than a million dollars.

Republican Bob Schaffer's Senate campaign is again embroiled in a controversy over a television ad - but this time for something that doesn't appear on the viewer's screen.

Democrat Mark Udall's campaign says Schaffer violated federal law by not having the candidate's image appear in the final four seconds of the new TV ad on taxes.

Udall's attorneys asked Colorado's TV stations on Thursday to enforce a provision of the law that says that requirement must be met for campaigns to get the discount rates that TV stations charge candidates.

Wadhams, as usual, responded with profanity, calling it "bullshit".

Norm Coleman in Minnesota (4.00 / 1)
did the same thing, though he at least showed up in his commercial for 2 seconds.

This makes Schaffer 0 for 2 on commercials.  If he can't even run his silly campaign ... well, we all know what he wouldn't do as a Senator.

Will stations in Colorado enforce the rate change, as the law hasn't been seriously enforced since its inception?  The FEC and FCC declined to force PA stations to hike rates when Rick Santorum committed the same offense in 2006.

Just for grins, I'm curious how the Republicans would react if a Democrat did this.

Norm Coleman in Minnesota (4.00 / 1)
You beat me to it about Coleman.  Seems the Republicans are creating an excuse as to why they lost both these Senate seats to Democrats.

Now if we could just get a more Progressive Dem than Udall.  We need someone who doesn't vote for retroactive telecom immunity and someone who cuts off funding for our foreign military occupation when the White House is occupied by an imperialist oilman.

Big Oil Bob's (0.00 / 0)
a Republican. So I vote criminal AND incompetent.

Did anyone else notice (0.00 / 0)
that this article did not show up in their "everything" RSS feed?  Thus I didn't catch it right away.  They have a politics feed, but it's not in there either.

When Alan does the clips every day (0.00 / 0)
I know he has to go into the sections and read for detail because the RSS feeds sometimes are missing things or they just don't update at all.

I'm sure it's just a mish-mash of checkboxes and whatnot on their content management system.

It used to be that Denver Post stories would all show up in the RSS feed hours beforehand and then you went to read them and they were "no longer available" until the next day when they would magically re-appear.

That's why... (4.00 / 1)
I always get my news from SquareState. We get their stories before they do. ;)

Profanity (4.00 / 1)
always has a religious reference. Unless one has a rather unique religion, "bullshit" is technically a vulgarity.
