and from the Cheers and Jeers section:

Jeers to the BLM.  They're giving the go ahead for oil shale development on 360,000 acres:

Getting at the oil will require more power - likely the construction of a 1,500- to 2,400-megawatt power plant - and about three barrels of water for every barrel of oil produced, according to the BLM plan.
How the heck is that sustainable?

Cheers to campaign finance.  Looks like the anti-choice people don't know how to cook their books that well.  The egg-mendment people will be shortly notified about their errors by the Secretary of State.  They have over $1500 in donations from anonymous that once called on it say they're from t-shirt sales.  Yeah, right!

Jeers to poop.  Looks like the cops stopped some violent monkeys from flinging their poo last week.

Oil Shale Sustainable? (3.00 / 1)

It is not sustainable.  Do an energy balance, and it becomes pretty obvious.  Is it time for Sen Salazar to be quoted once more that we've all heard a lot about this for decades, but no company has actually been extracting oil from the shale.  Why give out more leases when those which have been issued lay dormant?

The Post isn't reporting (0.00 / 0)
the dates that most of these items were found.  Does that mean they were found after the convention?  I find it very hard to believe that people who would go to that much trouble to collect and hide poo would not use it for the purpose they had intended.  Easy enough to collect more!  But no poo was actually flung in the making of this convention!
Personally, I think it's a scam to justify spending all that tax $$ on police and equipment that wasn't really needed!
