Jeers to the BLM.  They're giving the go ahead for oil shale development on 360,000 acres:

Getting at the oil will require more power - likely the construction of a 1,500- to 2,400-megawatt power plant - and about three barrels of water for every barrel of oil produced, according to the BLM plan.
How the heck is that sustainable?

It is not sustainable.  Do an energy balance, and it becomes pretty obvious.  Is it time for Sen Salazar to be quoted once more that we've all heard a lot about this for decades, but no company has actually been extracting oil from the shale.  Why give out more leases when those which have been issued lay dormant?

not used to picking up an internet signal while at work, just brought the computer along so I could watch some of my 6 hours of Epidemiology lectures I need to finish by Sunday, and instead I'm surfing and posting!  next client isn't until 5 ish.

the dates that most of these items were found.  Does that mean they were found after the convention?  I find it very hard to believe that people who would go to that much trouble to collect and hide poo would not use it for the purpose they had intended.  Easy enough to collect more!  But no poo was actually flung in the making of this convention!
Personally, I think it's a scam to justify spending all that tax $$ on police and equipment that wasn't really needed!
