Its officially Friday and I don't have to work in the morning so I am going to watch the sun come up... again.

Rage Against the Machine is coming. DeVotchKa is playing as well. The Big Tent is almost up. The city feels less like a cow-metropolis (<---not really, not at all). There will be many parties. The cops are going to beat the hell out of some people that won't deserve it.

Friday random 10:

1.Rose- A Perfect Circle
2.Goodbye Pisces- Tori Amos
3.War?- System of a Down
4.Speed of the sound of Loneliness- A3
5.Asturias- Les Frips
6.An Echo, A Stain (whatever that means)- Bjork
7.Knives Out- Radiohead
8. Possibly Maybe- Bjork
9.Scattered Black and Whites- Elbow
10. One- Metallica

5:05am - johne
Is the sun up yet?  We had a few last minute additions to the Drinking Liberally event line up:

  •  Drinking Liberally happy hours for next week.  Yes, I said more than one. New liberal card business 8 Rivers is opening a second location at 1550 Blake any day now. During the convention, they're helping us throw a happy hour from 4-6pm Tuesday through Thursday. Bring your Drinking Liberally button for 2 for 1 drink specials. We'll also have yummy appetizers.
  • Wednesday night is the big Drinking Liberally Denver 3 year anniversary party at the Skylark starting at 6pm complete with Laughing Liberally comedians, chocolate fountain, and more. Join us to also watch the vice presidential nominee speech.  Max and Marginalized with rock it out with thier mix of punk and politics.  First drink is also free.

Easy to get to on the 0 bus yet just out of reach of the cocktail weenie set.

Pre-DNC Blogging + BONUS pics, foxes and more! (4.00 / 1)
Since I'm here in Denver and my music is home, I can't do a Random 10. So instead I will stalk you all cross-post what I just put up as an attention seeking diary.

Oh, and sorry, no Colorado Pop Culture trivia today either.

***

I have been up here in Denver since Tuesday evening, getting a good early start on my convention blogging gig.  So far I have been to a VAN training, seen a fox in my friend's backyard, dropped in at The Big Tent HQ and occasionally flailed around despairing about being ready to go on the day.

If you want to follow the adventures of the country girl in the crazy big pre-convention city, pop over to CodeNeonBlue.net.

Yes, there ARE super cute fox pics to say AWWW over...and SO MUCH MORE!

Take heart! http://codeneonblue.net

gig? (4.00 / 1)
you have a gig?  Sorry I couldn't talk at that training.  I had to run to mandatory meeting.  bleh!

Not an ACTUAL gig, I guess (4.00 / 1)
Just the whole experience in general, and I guess the volunteering is a giglet...

I will be overseeing the charging of batteries on Monday and Wednesday 3-12, and Thursday 7-noon. So stop by if you need some voltage!

I expect we will get a chance to chat on Sunday at THE party!

Take heart! http://codeneonblue.net
