There are a lots of stories and events that I can't always publicize to the level they deserve. Rather than not mention them at all, I'd like to use this thread to give some exposure and linky goodness. As this grows, perhaps it will be a daily thread.
In the diaries, Jared Polis has announced his plan for child care. For all the talk about family values, this is one plan that would actually help struggling families raise their children.
Today, I laid out a comprehensive policy to help all American working families pay for high quality child care - click here to watch my video announcement. I will push for a federal guarantee of help with paying for child care for families earning below $40,000 a year; a sliding scale of assistance for families with incomes above that; greater tax help for middle income families, and strong incentives for states to improve the quality of early education, provider training, and to expand access for all children. Today, I also met with Google, a company that has been in the news after struggling with child care costs.
Gunny Bob is funny and has delusions of grandeur. He's claiming Barack Obama said the following (but has no audio of him saying this):
If you come any closer, I'll have the Secret Service shoot and then waterboard you, you fascist Marine capitalist bastard!
No Gunny, I said, I'd waterboard you, coward. As if Gunny has ever done anything outside of his cushy studio, seesh!
Progress Now has setup a defense fund for Carol Kreck, the librarian arrested for holding a sign outside of a McCain "townhall" event last week.
Yesterday, Sen. John McCain's Secret Service detail had a 60 year-old librarian removed from a public plaza. The librarian, Carol Kreck, was merely carrying a sign that said: McCain = Bush.
As our state moves to the national spotlight later this summer, you can bet there will be more occurrences like this. And you can bet we'll be there to document and publicize it (you can watch the video by clicking on the picture or the links below.)
After you've seen it for yourself, I hope you'll pitch in and help us help Coloradans like Carol Kreck. Please make a donation today at the following link:
