Bill of Rights preservation war not over (4.00 / 1)

Yes, we lost the battle--and it was a big one.  But, it is up to those who want to restore the 4th Amendment and reign in unchecked executive power to continue to fight.  This damage IS reversible; but, if we sulk too long, we will convince ourselves that it can't be done.

The Strange Bedfellows coalition--modeled on a left-right coalition in Great Britain that is fighting against the new surveillance state there--has taken up the gauntlet.  They will be running ads against some of the worst offenders (Repubs AND Dems) in Congress, and also taking other forms of action against the surveillance state.

Why August 8th?
That is the day in 1974 when Richard Nixon was forced to resign from office for his lawbreaking and surveillance abuses. That day illustrates how far we have fallen in this country in less than 35 years, as we now not only permit rampant presidential lawbreaking and a limitless surveillance state, but have a bipartisan political class that endorses it and even retroactively protects the lawbreakers.

Johne, if you can spread the word about AccountabilityNowPAC and the Strange Bedfellows Coalition when you're on Mario's program, that would be great.
