It's a good day to rebel against oppression and tyranny, but in a way obedient to lawful authority, Citizen.

What our gutless and powerless congress will soon vote against (4.00 / 4)
"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

Conservatives have effectively (4.00 / 1)
framed the 2nd amendment as being critical.  The remainder of the amendments ... not so much.

A Responsible Plan for Iraq: endorsed by Jared Polis

It's about time (4.50 / 2)
this site wore its flag pin!

Gotta do something (4.50 / 2)
to counteract all the terrorist fist jabs I keep seeing around here...

we need a terrorist fist jab emoticon (5.00 / 4)

how's that?

traditional media attention (4.00 / 2)
DemConWatch got some media attention from 9News about the possible move to Mile High.   Cograts!  While the AP article links to them, the tv story couldn't be bothered to mention the name.  They did however take the time to read some of the comments from their site.  LAME!  I'll do the same to show what a cesspool these comment sections are:

Whenever I think of this idea this image pops into my head.......... [redacted]NaziPartyDay_1934e.png

And they even quoted part of this one on the air:

Poisoning two locations with liberal propaganda??...ratifies Denver's socialist label I guess....next stop...Coors Field. Hey Democrats...where does "going green" for this event fit in??? Two locations...it's like having two lights on in a room needing of only one.

I think I need to go disinfect my brain now.

Another day talking politics (4.00 / 3)
Just got back from working the Boulder County Dems booth at the Louisville 4th of July event. We had a nice response - especially for pulling this booth together at the last minute.

Thanks to Kevin, Jacob and Barb for helping out at the booth. Thanks to State Senator Shaffer, Representative Primavera and Mayor Sisk for dropping by. Most importantly, thanks as well to all the people who stopped by, voicing their support for the Democratic candidates.

OT, no Trivia Tuesday next week. I'll be on the road.

Happy 4th everyone!

Rockets Red Glare (4.00 / 2)
I watched the Summit Dems march in the Breckenridge parade. Looking good.

The Repubs were there too with "Muslims for Bush" co-founder Muhammad Hasan's parents driving a stuffed elephant topped SUV. I hope Diane Scanlon cleans the floor with that strutting clown, he is nowhere near Dan Gibb's league and Hasan buying that seat would be a huge step backwards for a great district. I wonder how the restraining order against him is going.

On the way back to the rental, I saw some fireworks that I suspect are not permitted by the fire code. The Sheriff's office picked up an anti-tank rocket launcher off of our neighbor's lawn. I have pictures I can share later for the military hardware buffs out there who want to 'play name that shoulder fired celebration machine.' It didn't look used to me. It was just laying there on the ground waiting for fun.

I marched in the Aurora Stampede. (4.00 / 2)
With the Perlmutter group.  The response was good.  It's also a good sign for Ed that his opponent has written on his campaign shirts (few that there were) "John Who?"

If You Listen to Fools, the Mob Rules!!!!

Greeley Stampede (4.00 / 4)
I marched in the Greeley Stampede with the Weld County Dems, Mark Udall, Betsy Markey, Jim Riesberg, Joe Whitcomb, and others.

We had at least five times as many supporters walking as Bob Schaffer and the Weld County Republicans. In Weld County.

Notably missing: Marilyn Musgrave.

See my diary.

How was your day?  Mine was great.

Congratulations! (4.00 / 1)
