McInnis Burns Through the Dough

And he's outraised by Hickenlooper this quarter who has nearly twice as much cash on hand.

GJ Sentinal

McInnis paid nearly $84,000 for a fundraising event to Arena Communications of Salt Lake City; $33,400 to Notion One, a Denver computer and consulting firm; $30,000 to political consultant Michael Hess; $24,300 to Barbara Card, a political consultant; $20,000 to Shamrock Consulting in Littleton; more than $20,000 to two Virginia consulting firms; and $14,452 to his campaign finance director, Jessica Bogar (editor's note: Jessica should change her last name to Bogart).

Hickenlooper has been a skin-flint by comparison.

His biggest expenses so far were for nearly $90,000 to a Maryland company for mail services and $13,450 to On-Sight Public Affairs in Denver.

The takeaway: Mcinnis has no problem donating copious amounts of money to numerous consulting firms and passes the buck regarding charities.

Yeah, but that is one of those companies
that help you raise money for a big slice of it. It is a common Republican thing.

Getting Democrats together and keeping them that way is like herding cats that are high on meth, through L.A., during an earthquake, in the rain.

a little soft on hick
It was his first report (and he jumped in partway through), which is always good on fundraising and low on bills (lean staff still I would assume).

That said, this kind of burn rate is bad for McInnis and I can't imagine that Hick will spend anything close to what McInnis spends the next time reports come out.

If Hick can keep getting out talking to voters and can set aside enough for some direct mail/tv he should be solid unless McInnis can get his act together.

Who is actually involved with the high levels of Hick's campaign anyway?  Are they getting together a good ground game?

Then again, you never know if McInnis is going to have some new competition: http://joegforcolorado.com/

I look forward to seeing Joe's incredibly long yard signs.

Sorry Michael Bennet, but I'm a real person too
