They'll pretend like they are acting in our best interests and boldly fighting against the historic obstructionism of Republicans.
They'll yearn for the bipartisanship of yesteryear for which no one, not even my favorite pair of Great Horned Owls, gives a hoot.
They'll act as if they didn't give away the store by neglecting to reform the filibuster.
They'll collect their $1Million-dollar+ salaries for six years' meager work, revel in their gold-plated health care, work out in their immaculate gym/spa/pool facilities located mere steps from their offices, and they'll finally ask us to bear the burden of the nation's skewed finances and the God-Forsaken request that the Rich actually pay their Fair Share in this time of great challenge.
All the while they should rather be ashamed of the humiliation they've brought upon themselves and the institution they so praise. They should beg the forgiveness of the voters they will have failed time and again. They should hang their heads at the incompetence they will display so proudly, so pathetically, to each other and us as the nation's business becomes a wish list never to be acted upon. |
