Post Fiscal Cliff: What Senate Republicans are threatening to do to America's economy

by: Zappatero

Sun Jan 06, 2013 at 12:13:08 PM MST

Senate Republican and Lead Obstructionist Mitch McConnell has said "the tax debate is over."

This means Republicans plan to make the last 4 years look like a game of hearts compared to what they'll do no to America's economy through their worst enemy - newly re-elected President Barack Hussein Obama - Black Man and Democrat.

And even though Mitch McConnell has just filibustered his own bill, and is most likely running a Pay-for-Play Filibuster racket where the cash payoff goes directly to his campaign account, it will all be reported as just the usual differences between Democrats and Republicans.

And there's a place where all the liars can go to put on a honest face to their actions and get no push back and wide play in the public: the Sunday morning network interview shows.

But there's also a great site that specializes in transforming that particular kind of Washington, DC, lie into street language that conveys what these people are really saying - The Bobblespeak Translations.

Here're some of Mitch McConnell's lies on Meet the Press translated into street at Bobblespeak today:

David Gregory - Host: you compared the debt limit to a hostage you ransom and must be willing to shoot

Mitch McConnell - Republican Obstructionist in Chief: ever since Obama became President spending became a big problem

Gregory: amazing

McConnell: last week we amended the Constitution forbidding taxes forever and ever

Gregory: I did not know that

McConnell: no one likes taking America's credit hostage but we must do it to make Obama cut spending

Gregory: would you really wreck America's economy like that?

McConnell: unfortunately we have to since a Democrat became President spending and the debt suddenly became a really big problem

Gregory: but it's a threat to America's credit

McConnell: look we have to since do this since we can't win through normal politics

Gregory: fair enough

McConnell: spending has exploded the last four years!

Gregory: for four years you refused to work with Obama and tried to make him a one-term President

McConnell: he has to be dragged kicking and screaming slashing into Social Security and the time to do it is right now when a Democrat is President and he will get blamed

Gregory: since the debt is so important would you be willing to raise more taxes?

McConnell: oh hell no that's over

Gregory: that's your final answer?

McConnell: yes the biggest threat to America's future is all the spending I supported when Bush was President

So that's the state of our discourse today:

The national debt, created by Republicans with 2 wars and massive tax cuts, and exacerbated by the housing crisis, is unsustainable.

Republicans won't approve payment of the debt they created until Obama and Democrats cut social programs to the bone to pay down that debt.

Then Democrats will get blamed by Republicans for cutting the social programs that Republicans have yearned to cut for generations.

The next surplus will then get shoveled to the rich once again as another win in the class war of America's Millionaires and Billionaires against America's Middle Class.
