| And by "thank" I mean "f**k".
Senator Nancy Spence (R-Centennial) is playing politics with the education of young children. This time it comes in the form of accusing teachers of blocking a federal grant that would band-aid the hemorrhaging education money her comrades only opportunistically care about.
In the Denver Daily News, Spence says "K-12 must not be as underfunded as the teachers union claims if they are going to this much trouble to block a bill and a grant application that would wholly benefit Colorado schools," said Spence.
She's saying teachers should give up their due process for $25 per pupil, per year. |
| Fong :: Thank You, Nancy Spence |
| The $25 a year isn't going to mean much for the parents living near Southglenn Mall. If it does, they can forgo their Starbuck's for 5 days. Nancy Spence doesn't care about the students in her district, she just wants to cripple the teachers so her selfish ideology can get her some money.
Senator Spence, let's not forget the weeks of battles you and your brethren fought over keeping things like bull semen, junk mail, and styrofoam to-go containers tax-exempt. For how many years did those exemptions exists while underfunded schools were slashed over and over? Oh, and btw, this is a Federal grant, exerting Federal influence on our state education system. Where is your God now, Senator? He must be in the bathroom after dosing your audible epicac.
I'll try and put this as simply as possible: Teachers with tenure = workers with due process = jobs with benefits = middle class = economic stability = long-term prosperity <-- this is more important than selling out. |
