Has it ever struck anybody as ironic that the word "Conserve" means to preserve? And how it's the folks who call themselves "conservatives" who want to repeal progressive reforms dating back to the days of Teddy Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson? The Federal Reserve? -- kill it
Social Security? -- privatize it, restrict it (but we really want to kill it . . .)
Food and Drug Regulations? -- kill 'em!
Clean Air and Water Regulations? --- don't need those guys.
Commerce, Education and uhhhhh . . . (oh yeah,) The Department of Energy!Kill 'em too. Why is it that regressive's, who want to throw the baby out with the wash, get to be called "Conservatives?" Seems like a bit of a misnomer to me. The only thing that "Conservatives" want to preserve is the status quo of the top 1%, the bloated defense budget and the canonization of Ronald Reagan, Ayn Rand and Charlton Heston . . . oh --- almost left out nativity scenes on Federal property throughout the land . . . Conservatives definitely want to preserve that! |
