John Hickenlooper Facebook Page Blocks Community Posts

Facebook is about community so it's revealing that the John W. Hickenlooper facebook page shut down community posts. You can "like" and babble on the things the Governor posts but you can't see others' derisive commentary about his choice to send the State Troopers into a peaceful demonstration, without identification, armed to assault, and seemingly under orders to not verbally communicate at all with the protestors.

People already really hate the Governor, and now they want to have an e-heyday at his expense. Why can't he just let them "stamp their feet and hold up signs and point out problems they see in this country."

Police brutality and other forms of suppression attract attention he doesn't want and could easily avoid. Now the situation is more volatile.

These aren't just trolls we're talking about either. As shown by the demonstrations around the world, significant numbers of people are attached to their democratic ideals. Hick was elected. If people feel he's shutting them out of their democracy, he's just bottling bad energy. If he was truly concerned about "being blamed" for something bad happening to the protesters, then he wouldn't shut down the structures of protest, both in the park and online.
