Denver Mayor Michael Hancock raises appointee's pay, shoots down opportunity for everyone else

I've always hated Denver Mayor Michael Hancock. He's an idiot, he's fake, and he's the kind of tyrant where if democracy doesn't support his ideology to privatize, then he'll just take the fucker over.

Today while speaking to his puppet masters, the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, Mayor Hancock confirmed that he won't support the initiative to require Denver businesses to catch up to the rest of the civilized world and give their workers paid time off.

This is from the guy who, despite a $25 million budget shortfall, gave about $1,000,000.00 in raises to 39 discretionary positions at an average of over $25,000 each, immediately after taking office.

Last week Hancock also shot down an initiative to better fund our dwindling libraries.

So far he's refused to support Denver workers, Denver libraries, and Denver public schools but he'll raise pay for his buddies.

When it comes to balancing the budget, here's what I predict he'll do: cut ever-increasingly needed welfare (Denver Human Services is already completely fucked), cut libraries, and privatize as much as he can under the banner that privatization will save us because, Lord knows, it's done a fan-fucking-tastic job so far!

There is no "working" with this man. He has no intention of ever challenging the deterioration of Denver nor changing anything meaningful. What do you think it will take to get through to him? If anyone knows what it is, do the world a favor and take advantage of it. He hasn't thought...twice about how not to support the poor and middle classes.

We Had Our Chance in May
But, it wasn't taken.  The turnout was low; and a lot didn't like the choice and stayed home.  I'm rethinking Denver for the long term and will make a decision by December.
