I think Senator Michael Johnston is trying to kill me

As much as I love Jimi Hendrix, I don't want to die choking on my own vomit, but Senator Michael Johnston has another idea. His latest fundraising call for Michael Hancock is truly upchuck-inducing.

It comes from the Senator who hails from the most Democratic Senate District in the state, but who sold out and will go down in history as the Democrat who pushed through his bogus school reform agenda only by getting the support of every psychotic Republican in Colorado's Senate, and which cost teachers due process rights and cost our cash-strapped state, what,  $100,000,000.00? Add this to the pile of shit-ridden endorsements for Hancock who said he would take over Denver Public Schools should DPS move in the wrong direction once Mayor.

Denver is a Democratic city and Michael Hancock/Johnston is really a Republican who calls himself a Democrat because we would never elect a Republican, get it? That's why all the Republicans you know support either Romer or Hancock. It's very simple.

From the epicacic fundraising call (here's the link to donate to Hancock)

Over the past few years, Michael has helped us write legislation giving struggling schools greater autonomy and more freedom to be innovative. He has supported efforts to hold educators more accountable for student performance, and he has advocated for turnaround plans to ensure that all neighborhoods have superior schools.

I can assume he's talking about SB191 and the move to silence poor and informed people in the far northeast school shut down/privatization plan. Where do these fucking people get off?

Can we all just take a moment and think for ourselves? Thank you.

The complaint
is that Democrats aren't the enemy but when Democrats move to privatize education and squash dissent, it's clear that Democrats ARE the enemy. Let's squash those Democrats who don't know how to be Democrats.

Do or do not, there is no try.

You need a better narrative and argument.
Ideologically, I'm solid for public education, as that is the bedrock for civil society where everyone gets an even shot. That said, there are a lot of needed reforms. The biggest problems include: attack on public education from Christians; attack on public education from government haters; the issue that teachers are prevented from doing a good job; and of course, that funding needs to be increased for any number of reasons.

Mike Johnston has chosen education reform as his signature issue, and he has credentials, experience and a track record. If you are really attacking his record, I think you need to engage with all the reasons why it is wrong, not just take potshots.

Hancock may be bad or good, but again, your criticism needs to address the specific reasons and policies.

Look, I pay close attention to political issues pretty closely, yet you haven't given me a  substantive argument that I can understand or that would persuade me, let alone someone with less information than me.

Thanks for your input
It's hard for me to find the balance between my frustration and presenting the facts. I'm not an education expert by any means but I there are a lot of obvious flaws. The bill passed with total Republican support, do we need more?

Yes, but do you need me to spell it out here?

Do or do not, there is no try.
