Colorado Governor Bill Ritter will announce today that he is running for the U.S. senate.
"I know that April may seem a little late to throw my hat in this race, but it is the right thing to do."
When asked why he is challenging the current senator that he appointed, Ritter responded:
"I appreciate what Bennet has done in keeping this seat warm for me. However, it's time for someone with my experience to step in."
A spokesperson for the Bennet campaign said:
"Only a fool would stand in Ritter's way of this nomination, he has our full support,"
The Romanoff campaign also responded:
"This is a great day for Colorado, finally we can have the senate race we all want," |
