It's not Mark, it's Senator Tom Udall, the one who's not afraid to make his case and propose significant policy options to reduce our dependence on foreign oil:
Events that continue to unfold in the Middle East and Northern Africa have once again exposed our country's Achilles heel -- an addiction to foreign oil.
We really are addicted to any and all oil - not just foreign. Even Bush 43 knew that. While Neocons wants us to engage in another Arab country (two wars aren't enough?) to ensure that ever-flowing I.V. solution, Senator Udall lays out some other simple solutions - once again, because we really don't seem to get the point - that can reduce our need for that nasty Black Tar and its equally harmful derivatives: |
| Zappatero :: Udall faults our contnuing dependence on foreign oil |
We must stop relying on hostile or unstable nations for our energy sources and spur the development of sources at home.
We must invest in domestic alternatives to imported oil like natural gas-powered trucks, electric vehicles, and next generation biofuels like the algae cultivated near Columbus, NM. We must also focus on improving public transportation, better urban planning, and continued vehicle fuel economy improvements.
These things are clear. If you drive by the Air Force Academy in norther Colorado Springs you'll see even they are taking bold action.
Tom Udall keeps pushing the issue. Mark Udall should join in. And if he'd quit issuing press releases maybe Senator Bennet could make it an actual caucus. We can't wait any longer, and we can't keep making the same mistake that is mocked throughout our culture:
You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders - The most famous of which is "never get involved in a land war in Asia" - but only slightly less well-known is this: "Never go against a Sicilian when death is on the line"! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha... The question isn't whether we should push solar, wind, geothermal and halt our addiction to oil. The question is how long we will remain fools when all evidence should force us to finally end our addiction to oil. |
