HIGH NOON TUESDAY RALLY IN SOLIDARITY WITH WISCONSIN

by: Fong

Fri Feb 18, 2011 at 13:16:11 PM MST

Tuesday February 22nd, 2011 there will be a rally in support of Wisconsin workers protesting their Governor's violent through the barrel of a gun threats to outlaw collective bargaining for state workers.

Given our own Governor's shady and self-righteous attitude about cutting rights and benefits to state employees, we need to send a clear message that there will be hell to pay if he continues in the same direction as the Wisconsin governor. This is one way you can help send that message.

Please join us on Tuesday on the west Capitol steps at high noon.

Hey,
Wouldn't we vilify Sarah Palin if she invoked that theme? Just sayin'. (Not that I don't love it.)

If it were Sarah Palin
the gun would be facing the other way. I think it's an important distinction.

I was thinking about that...
and I think I'll take it out. It's too easily misinterpreted when really it's just a play on "high noon" not "shoot out".

Who would people shoot anyway? Like-minded protestors? Any threat to the Governor's safety is absolutely the dumbest fucking thing I can think of for the cause. I swear to Jesus Christ that if anyone thinks they should threaten the Governor because of something I say, here's a few points you should take to heart:

1) You're a dumb shit

2) I'm not responsible for the dumb shit choices you make

3) If you want to be a dumb shit by threatening the Governor or any other elected official and think that you're doing the cause any good, YOU'RE A DUMB SHIT!

But yeah, I'm taking it down. Sorry about that.

Peace, Fong

I feel really bad now.
That was such a stupid joke. I should never have put that song up there. Dammit.

But since we're still talking about it...

...some other things for Dumb Shit to remember, there aren't any virgins waiting for you. You aren't the son of God. Your "special" brand of magic, whatever it is, isn't real.

Can we protest against his education cuts, too?

My opinions here do not reflect any organization or group with which I may be affiliated.

Yes. I think the topic of many speakers will be
exactly that.

[ Parent ]
Not sure....
Not sure the issue will expand much beyond worker rights, but I understand the concern. Entire rally may be over in an hour, but planning it still going on.

"Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker has declared war on state workers,
Sounds familiar to us Colorado folk ...

Yeah, ya know?
That's why it's so offensive to me.
