Republicans Leave Real Universe, Dispute Reps Were Called The N Word

by: Bill Egnor AKA Something The Dog Said

There is this idea in physics called the Planck length. It is thought that if you take something this infinitesimally small and fold it over it describes the event horizon of a black hole. This is a singularity; when something passes it never returns. Anything going over the event horizon has effectively been cut off from the universe that we know. This is where Rep. Michele Bachmann and other Republicans have gone.

Over the weekend she was heard telling a rally in Duluth MN the following:

"Democrats said that they were called the 'N word,' which of course would be wrong and inappropriate. But no one has any record of it. No witness saw it, it's not on camera, it's not on audio," she said. "They said that they were spat upon. No one saw it."

She went on, "There's a $10,000 reward right now for anyone who can produce a video or an audio. Don't you think we would have seen a video or an audio by now if there was something out there?"

Bill Egnor AKA Something The Dog Said :: Republicans Leave Real Universe, Dispute Reps Were Called The N Word
This is not the first Republican to say this kind of thing. I could not find the clip but sometime last week on Hardball with Chris Mathews one of his regular, Republican strategist Ron Christie (the only person in the world my wife would shout "You Tool" at on TV)  made the same point. It is pretty galling to see an African American who has probably felt first hand racism being willing to doubt that it was expressed against African American politicians.

This is going to be the meme that we are going to see from Republicans. They are going to give weak lip service to the idea that people should not say racist things but deny them as long as there is no audio or video tape of the incident. Even then we will hear the lame and tiered "isolated incidents" trope when they are caught red handed.

All of this just goes to show that the Republican Party has finally become so insular, so wrapped up in their echo chamber that they can not or will not see the reality of their base. How many of these inducements do we need before the evidence is overwhelming (personally I think we are already there, but apparently not). We have seen the signs at the rallies. We have seen the racist jokes that Republican Party officials have sent via e-mail, we have seen legitimate Civil Rights heroes and sitting United States Representatives being called n**gers, and being spit on.

These are not isolated acts when they happen on a weekly basis and the Republican Party is verifying its status as a racist organization by calling the veracity of people like John Lewis and Emmanuel Clever into question.

The thing is there is video, of the spitting incident at least. It is on Huff Po and you find it here. Anyone want to claim the $10,000 from Rep. Bachmann? It is not like something like proof will matter to them They have gone where not even light returns from, they are in their own private universe. No new information can come from anywhere but Fox News, Limbaugh and Beck. It is a sad thing that we have lost any chance of a loyal opposition and have to also give up on a sane one as well.

I don't like to be a doom and gloom kind of person, but where this ends is ugly in the extreme. The last time we had Republican officials talking about the treason of the Democratic Party it culminated with the Oklahoma City bombing. While we are seeing the FBI act to roll up small groups of fools like the Hutaree Militia the lesson of Tim McVey is that a small number of fools can do an incredible amount of damage. This willful winking at the extremist in their base and the false equivalency comparisons to the Left allow this kind of cancer to grow. I fear that we are in for a few very tough years if the Republicans do not return to sanity. Tragically there is no indication they will do so.

The floor is yours.

Cons Left Reality Long Ago
They're only interested in gaining and/or maintaining political power.  By and large, they have no interest in the truth, in reality, in facts, in civility, in reason, or in rules.

They do live in their own universe.  They have for a generation.  They provide a constant parade of extreme cognitive dissonance.  I can't think of anything that will break them out of that universe.  I can only hope they don't take too many of the rest of us down with them when they commit their lunatic acts of violence.

Republicans are so empirical
So does that mean they don't believe in the Invisible Hand of Adam Smith anymore?

Well, they used to believe in the invisable hand, then
someone set it down and they have not been able to find it ever since. Now it is relegated to mythic status.

Getting Democrats together and keeping them that way is like herding cats that are high on meth, through L.A., during an earthquake, in the rain.

I don't have video or audio of that incident
I do have a couple of disturbing photos from last week in DC that I posted on FB. The signs are very offensive agsint both the Gay and Jewish communities. The most disturbing thing is that a family had a child doing it, too.

We can't let the Tea Party win under any circumstances.

Up and down the ticket, the Democratic Party has to turn out inforce for our nomiees in November.

Here's the link!
of a Congressman being spit on It's horrible. You can see the look of the guy who is like well, the damage has been done and this police officer isn't doing anything (thank god). I'm gonna keep up with the yelling

I was watching Fox News
(okay, I was having a stupid attack)
and the guy was saying, "Where is the outrage for Eric Canter's home being vandalized with a stone? Why don't the libs spend as much time talking about that?" Correct me if I am wrong, but haven't there been lots of violent episodes against Dems, not just one? The window at the Dems HQ recently, the spitting/harrassment of Lewis and others, and many more in the past 2 years, including the murders at the Unitarian church in Knoxville. I know there have been others.
