Republicans have the House. Let the pettiness begin!!!

by: Fong

Wed Nov 10, 2010 at 22:11:28 PM MST

Now that they have a 33-32 advantage in the State House, Colorado Republicans are wasting no time in picking up their heartfelt tradition of being petty.

From the State Bill News:

The GOP took the word energy out of the House Transportation & Energy Committee; the words human services from the House Health & Human Services Committee; and the word labor from the Business Affairs & Labor Committee.

Because there's nothing more supportive of middle class voters quite like giving the finger to workers, people suffering from the recession, and those a-holes who want to keep the air, water, and land livable for future generations.

A statement of purpose and an insult
They made a statement of intent by doing this. It could affect legislation and derail the committee's purpose. At a minimum it is a clear message to labor and non-supervisory employees saying, screw you. Some  Republicans like to throw around the term "labor boss", but it is very clear that their party is subservient to  the "boss".  They do not believe employees should have rights, especially if it involves collective bargaining. Their mantra is the usual, take care of the owners and investors and the world will take care of itself.  I am also concerned that our party has been so far been pretty silent on the issue. (I may cross post on social media)

If there is no word for something,
there there is no experience for it. This is part of their battle to control perception and dominate conversation. By simply leaving out these words, they get to ignore the huge amount of people who are described by those words. If we needed any more proof, and we don't, this shows how Republicans are not interested in representing people. They are only interested in representing monied interests. They are sell-outs through and through. Theirs is the art of selling out and there are Dems who will gladly go with them.

"there are Dems who will gladly go with them"
That's really the crux of the dire straits we're in. There is no viable opposition party to represent the 98% of the people who are getting economically raped and pillaged by the wealthy 2% who now control both major parties. We have Corpublicrat Party A (thoroughly corrupt) and Corpublicrat Party B (mostly corrupt, incompetent, and/or cowardly, with a shrinking number of worthy leaders who no longer control the national party's agenda or direction).
